Habitat and Range: Tropical rainforest of southern and southeast Asia and the area encompassing Southern china to Eastern Burma. \nPhysical Characteristics: White-handed gibbons weigh 8-13 lbs. and are either dark brown to black in color or red buff with white face rings, hands, and feet. Males and females can show either color, but white accents are always present. The feet and palms of the gibbon’s hands have bare, leathery skinned soles for gripping. Their big toes are able to grasp in opposition to their other toes so that they can walk upright along branches.
